DISTRICT 1 RAIN-OUT POLICY
Weather in the Anchorage bowl is variable from hour to hour and from location to location. We can and do play baseball/softball in the rain in Alaska. Most fields drain well. Unless there is standing water on the field that cannot be abated, the games will proceed. A decision will not be made to cancel or postpone a game due to rain until game time. The Home Plate Umpire will make that decision. Please make sure your teams show up ready to play.
An exception will be made for games involving teams traveling to or from the Mat-Su Valley or the Kenai Peninsula. Those games may be cancelled in advance of traveling. Please check with the host league before traveling.
2024 Interleague Rules
NOTE: THERE IS NO PROVISION IN LITTLE LEAGUE RULES THAT ALLOWS THE USE OF A BATTING TEE IN MINORS SOFTBALL. THERE IS NO PROVISION IN DISTRICT 1 INTERLEAGUE RULES THAT ALLOWS THE COACH TO PITCH TO THE BATTER IN MINORS SOFTBALL.
When four balls have been called by the umpire, the batter is entitled to first base without liability to be put out. No additional action by the batter, such as batting off a tee, is required. (See Rule 6.08(a)(1))
